Gravitational Physics Group Our team, lead by Prof. Michele Vallisneri, explores the cosmic symphony of gravitational waves—ripples in spacetime that carry information about the most energetic events in our universe. Gravitational waves were predicted by Albert Einstein in 1916, and first detected in 2015 by the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory (LIGO).
